Polypropylene
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic with good chemical resistance. Good fatigue resistance. Better temperature resistance than polyethylene. Lower density than polyethylene. Talc, calcium carbonate, and other fillers allow for uses in high temperature or applications where increase stiffness is required.
Applications:
Food packaging, storage containers, general mechanical parts, medical components and packaging, pipes, battery cases, bottles, bottle caps. Rubber modified PP for impact resistant components such as bumpers. Talc-filled Polypropylene for additional stiffness at elevated temperatures. Films for packaging, fibers for carpeting and artificial sports surfaces.
